Wired Magazine Wants to Know the Future of Process Service

NEW YORK, NY -- Wired magazine’s Found page is hosting a contest, asking readers to come up with ideas of what the future of process service will look like. Contest participants are asked to send in their ideas via a widget. Both text and photo submissions are accepted, but Wired claims that they are especially interested in visual entries. Winners will have their ideas published.

Battery Charges May be Laid Against Process Server

HINSDALE, IL -- On the afternoon of January 29, a man called police to allege that an Illinois process server assaulted him while serving documents. According to police, the man alleges that the process server was serving a civil court papers when he became upset and punched him in the chest. Police are investigating the incident. The name of the victim and process server has not yet been released.

Mayor Facing Charges Over Assault on Process Server

MENDENHALL, MI -- Mayor Steve Womack of Mendenhall has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking a Michigan process server. According to the Simpson County Sheriff, process server Donald Rankin arrived at Womack's residence when Womack assaulted him and swore at him. The Mayor has pleaded not guilty.

Attorney Suspended After Altercation with Process Server

ANNA, IL -- Attorney Allen W. James has been suspended for 60 days after pulling a gun on a process server in Illinois. James has stated that he was in the Union County Courthouse parking lot when an unknown man approached him. He put his hand on his loaded semiautomatic handgun because he was concerned for his safety. He is accused of pulling the Kel-Tec .380 pistol at the process server. A panel deemed that James showed little remorse for the incident and that he had admitted to evading a process server the day before the incident.
