Introduction Letter from PSACO to Non-members

June 27, 2011  |  by Steve Glenn, PSACO President  |  PSACO

Hello to All:

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Steven Glenn and I own Magnum-Diego Priority Services, LLC along with my wife Debee. I founded the Process Servers Association of Colorado (PSACO) with the express purpose of protecting process servers and process serving companies. Process servers across the nation are making headlines and the reports cast a negative shadow on all of us. Many states are beginning to reign in those wrong doers by imposing licensing and bonding requirements on individuals and companies that serve process.

In Colorado, we have felons and pedophiles serving papers, increasing the risk to the citizens of Colorado. Fraudulent Affidavits of Service are being produced, papers dropped, with everyone and their mother entering the industry to make a quick buck. Local police departments are refusing civil assists due to budget issues. If police respond they side with the person being served, without talking to the process server. Servers are being threatened and ticketed with harassment and trespass. All we are trying to do is deliver papers for the courts.

Our purpose is to provide a Voice for process servers throughout Colorado and we are off to a great start. Our accomplishments to date:

  • Submitted a letter to the Rules Committee requesting a meeting
  • Contacted the Secretary of State and Attorney General regarding issues serving Registered Agents
  • Created committees to review the most efficient ways to protect and educate process servers
  • Created a website to communicate with “Process Servers” across the state (www.psaco.org)
  • Partnered with ServeNow
  • Working towards becoming a NAPPS State Charter Association
  • Contacted Sheriff’s Association and the Police Chiefs Association to begin discussions to better our relationship

I am sure you would agree, it is far better to be proactive than to wait until we need to defend our industry. Help us make a difference by helping us make serving process an efficient and honorable profession.

Please join us at our July 14th meeting at ServeNow, located at 2854 Larimer Street, Denver CO 80205. Food and refreshments will be served. Click here to learn more and RSVP.

Respectfully,

Steven D. Glenn
