About

PPS was incorporated in February of 1988. The founders identified a need to privatize services of process; e.g., inordinate "not to be found" returns, court hearing dates set too far in advance and the lack of accessibility to the sheriff for difficult services and inquiries.

PPS has spearheaded three significant pieces of legislation proven to be the cornerstone in giving private service of process legitimacy in the state of Tennessee and Shelby County:

Legislation to allow private service of process.
Legislation giving the Shelby County Commission the responsibility of setting the fee charged by private process servers.
Legislation allowing the process serving fee to be recovered as part of the judegement.
