About the Software

PSS (short for Process Server Software) is a web-based (PHP) software package that enables you to post available service jobs online. Other process servers around the country can then log onto your site and request those jobs.

Once you have someone who has requested the job, with our software and a scanner, you can scan the document, upload it with our easy-to-understand interface, and the server at the other end will have it in seconds! They can then process the paperwork and send you anything that may be required.

No more do you have to package up those important documents into costly overnight packaging! Save your business a ton by doing it online – in only seconds!

What’s more, you have full admin rights to the website; make it your own colors. Upload a logo and brand the site to look like yours.

Is your solution web based or does it required a PC/server installation?

We offer two versions.

The hosted version is hosted by our parent company, Lighthouse Technologies. This version includes a domain name (at purchaser’s choice), hosting, and free setup. This is the recommended version, as all security updates and patches are automatically applied to all accounts upon their release. This version also comes with discounted maintenance options and upgrades.

We also offer a version of PSS on CD. This version, called PSS Standalone, comes to you in the mail and requires you to have your own website. It also requires a MySql database and some advanced knowledge of web software. This version includes free downloadable updates for the version purchased.

Depending upon version purchased, some installation may be required on the purchaser’s web server.

Key Product Features

The software enables a locally-based server to become a nationwide server. Local contracts for out of state services can be posted on the website and other process servers will contact you for jobs. Once contacted, if you have a document scanner, you can seamlessly convert the contract to a PDF file, upload it to your website, and an automatic email is then sent to the recipient with download instructions. This makes the document immediately available and saves on overnight shipping.

Assuming the purchaser is buying the standalone version, An intermediate user should be able to install this in 15-30 minutes.

We will soon also be offering a full module package, which will include hardware and software required to run our additional modules.

What should a process server look for when choosing a product?

The most important feature of any software should be the support. We realize that there is no one ‘perfect solution’ and therefore support for any product is an absolute must. We strive to make our products robust and flexible so that our customers can work towards achieving that ‘perfect solution’.

The other important feature is compatibility – without it you’re wasting your money. Purchasing a product that is written in an obsolete language, or a product that is not compatible with your hardware is like throwing money down the drain. Products should be created and maintained in cross-compatible ways. PSS is written in the very popular and stable PHP web language and is compatible across multiple web server operating systems.

I also believe that software should be created to make your job easier, quicker, and ultimately software should save you money.

A huge technology issue facing the process serving industry is just that – a lack of technology usage in the industry. Many process servers fail to see the immense benefits of having a website.
