Convicted Man Denied New Trial

PEKIN, IL -- Alan Breedlove, convicted of murder, has been told by a judge not to ask for a new trial again at the trial court level. Breedlove’s request for a new trial was also denied. Breedlove may continue to seek legal assistance from prison. He is currently serving a sentence of 50 years for murdering his former wife. Breedlove is accused of killing his ex-wife before setting her apartment on fire. A process server arriving at the home to deliver papers saw Breedlove at the apartment and heard a woman’s screams for help. Breedlove slammed the door and the process server testified that he called for help. A fire broke out while the process server waited for police to arrive.
